Obituary for Joel Franklin Smith
Joel Franklin Smith, age 74, of Elkins, Arkansas, passed away on February 8, 2017 at his home. He was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Hurst Smith, as well as his previous wife Caroline Jerelene Robins Smith. He was born on October 18, 1942 in Gray Ridge, Missouri, to Wayne Harold Smith and Thelma Lucille Harris Smith.
He is survived by many family and friends, that love him and will miss him.
Although he retired from being a truck driver in 2003, he has done many things throughout his life to earn a living.
Service station attendant, construction worker, factory worker, ranch hand, sawmill worker, aircraft maintenance, bartender, caterpillar mechanic.. Just to name a few. He was an avid outdoorsman and a cowboy at heart. He enjoyed his horses, fishing, hunting, gardening and traveling.
We (his family) will be gathering on Memorial Day to hold a memorial service to celebrate his life and share stories.
