John Alan Gore of Springdale, Arkansas, completed his journey on this earth Sunday, October 8th, at the age of 70. John was born on November 11, 1946 in Tulsa, OK. to John H. and Mary I. Gore. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother David.

John was a member of the 101st Airborne during his 2 tours of service in Vietnam, and received the Bronze Star.
His love of music and the written word led him to a career as a radio personality and journalist. He worked in radio in Northeast Texas and in journalism in Texas and Arkansas, for almost 50 years, most recently the Fayetteville, Bentonville and Rogers Morning news.

On June 8th, 1990, John married Shirley Duffield who survives. Together they have two daughters, Lara Hooper and husband Brooks of Corpus Christi, Tx. and Luann Norris and husband Scott of Winnsboro, Tx. They have three sons, Rusty Duffield and wife Debbie, of Longview, Tx. , Joe Bob Duffield and wife JoAnn of Sugarland, Tx. and Tim Duffield and wife Joyce of Conroe, Tx. John’s greatest joy was his family, including 10 grandkids, and 15 great grandkids. He loved to hear them call him Boompie and enjoyed every minute he could spend with them. He will be greatly missed by the family mentioned here as well as cousins and countless friends.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Winnsboro, Tx.
